As we all know, summer vacations bring happiness, fun and some summer days with that hard to get ‘away from it all’ feeling. Picture yourself on a sunbed by the perfect beach, sunglasses on, cocktail in hand and gazing down the endless blue. Sounds perfect. However, the perfect vacation is not perfectly worry-free. Besides the usual worries of not knowing the place and the language or not knowing where to have drinks and dinner without getting ripped off, one worry remains mostly unseen. Suntan may come at a certain expense such as burns and irritation but the main concern is the conditions which may be worse. Unfortunately, melanoma is a real threat and bearing in mind its potentially dangerous and detrimental effect on health, we considered important to devote an article on how to tan safely, without returning from say a holiday to Spain with worse than just cheap souvenirs.

It’s been a few hours since another legend passed away, adding to the people who left us in 2016 after leaving their mark. Prince for us was always an idol. A charismatic musician who managed to captivate our minds, souls, eyes and ears through his work. In order to honour him and his music which inspired us more than ten years ago, we decided to name our company Purple Travel partly because of his song Purple Rain. As such, here we present you with our favourite 10 which we hope will inspire you to leave the rainy coasts of the Ol’ Blighty behind and go after the warm Mediterranean sun.
Whenever our mind slips away to foreign lands and spectacular faraway destinations it is hard not to think about a tropical beach on the shore of one of the islands of the Caribbean. MUSA Underwater Museum
This bizzare museum features more than 500 underwater sculptures off the coast of Cancun. “Bodies”, heads in the sand, fill every corner… The artwork is as part of a major project called “The Silent Evolution.” The installation is the first endeavor of a new underwater museum called MUSA, which combines contemporary art with reef conservation.
Cenote Dos Ojos
Enter the underground rivers and caves of the Yucatan Peninsula through a natural spring found only here. Cenote Dos Ojos, or as they call it ”Two Eyes”, is named after the double rivers that come together. Located about two hours south of Cancun, it is the deepest known cave passage in the region.
